I wish you good luck Pakistan. I know you was taken on the name of Islam once, I was not born at that time, but still when I gaze at stars, they give me a reflection back of the time when the streets of Lahore were glorified by the slogan of La Ilaha Ill Allah.
My dear Country, I feel sad to tell you that your inhabitants are still in a fight if this country had to be Islamic or secular, I wish I could tell them how it feels when a racist hurt your dignity on the name of religion, how it feels when someone doesn’t eat with you for the reason of religion, how it feels when you cannot breath freely, how it feels when your self respect is deteriorated in the name of religion. It certainly feels bad, it certainly feels worse. Instead of thanking God for His bounty, your inhabitants still urge to raise the secularist flag.
I wish you good luck Pakistan, I know you had seen many disastrous times, I know you was always suppressed by your inhabitants, I know it hurts you when a milkman dilutes milk by water, when a decent man bribes a policeman, when a doctor becomes a dacoit, when education is sold, when politicians gamble for seats, when everything is assured to make life miserable.
As I look behind the years passed, I feel how hard it would have been for you to survive. When the Khilafat shuddered in 1924, every country raised slogan of nationalism, some claimed to be Turks, some raised slogan of being Egyptians, and many others called themselves Arabs. All these newly formed countries were unaware of the fact that in next 23 years, the state will rise, the state that will be called the state of Allah, where the nationalism would have no meaning, where people wouldn’t call themselves Punjabi, Balochi, Sindhi or Pathan, where there would be no significance of Deobands, Brailvis, Ahl e Hadith, or Ahl e Tashi, the land that will be taken for recite of ‘La Ilaha Ill Allah’, the land where the minorities will enjoy the same social, economical rights as enjoyed by Muslims, the land that will be taken on the name of Allah.
But as I gaze at the people around, I am sorry Pakistan, the situation is way too different here, your inhabitants are not worried about you, they are divided in the cloaks of racism, they are segregated in different religious sects. I am shivered to tell you, often the air of Pure Land has stench of fresh blood, and often the blood is seen at the roadside, your inhabitants are not doing justice to you.
I know the hard times are coming ahead, sometimes you are poked by foreigners, sometimes your heart is targeted by insiders, but don’t worry, I assure you, good times are ahead. The people, who can see behind the veils, are giving signs that best of best times are coming ahead. I still feel the rays of love emitting from the heart of that honest clerk who still hates bribery. I still see the prominent gleam of joy in the eyes of that traffic warden, who calmly controls the traffic. I still feel the waves of tranquility from that school teacher who actually comes in school to dignify the future of his student. I still feel radiance of love from a rescuer who would jump in deep waters to save a drowning person. Don’t worry, good times are ahead, all that I can do for you is pray, good luck Pakistan.
